Dr Alexandra Fisher is a Research Fellow and Social Psychologist at the ANU Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.

Dr Fisher’s research aims to challenge dominant norms and social scripts that prevent progress toward gender equality, both in the context of work and close relationships. Her research has been published in academic journals and has featured in national and international media outlets (i.e., New York Times) and podcasts.

She also regularly partners with organisations, including the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, to understand and address gender and intersectional inequalities across sectors. Dr Fisher is currently a Chief Investigator on an eSafety Commissioner grant to develop an evidence-based approach to primary prevention of tech-based abuse of women and gender diverse people.
