Professor Angela Woollacott is the Manning Clark Professor of History in the School of History.

From 2004 to 2009, she was Professor of Modern History at Macquarie University in Sydney. Prior to that she was a Professor of History at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Her areas of research, research supervision and teaching include Australian history; British Empire, colonialism, postcolonial and decolonisation history; political history; women’s and gender history; biography; modernity and transnational histories.

Professor Woollacott is an elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, and the Australian Academy of the Humanities, and a former president of the Australian Historical Association. She has served on advisory panels at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
