Dr Georgy Falster is a postdoctoral fellow at the ANU Research School of Earth Sciences, in association with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes.

Dr Falster’s research focuses on variability in the water cycle over land, from regional to global spatial scales, and decadal to centennial temporal scales.

At ANU, Dr Falster studies the long-term causes of droughts in Australia, asking (and hopefully answering) questions such as “are the activities of humans making Australian droughts worse than they were in the pre-industrial period?”
