Hannah Robertson is a PhD candidate at POLIS: The Centre for Social Policy Research at ANU.
Through Ms Robertson’s her doctoral research, she strives to create a safer digital dating landscape, by advancing our understanding of dating-app-facilitated violence. Specifically, she seeks to understand the salient aspects of dating app use, design, and management that foster opportunities for violence perpetration.
Moreover, she writes regularly for media, contributing insights about digital dating in the Australian context, the appetite for tech regulation, and social policy for Gender-based violence. Ms Robertson is also an active member of the National Women’s Safety Alliance, through which she became appointed as the Australian civil society delegate for the 67th annual UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York exploring ‘Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls’.
