Ken Freeman is an Emeritus Professor at the ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Professor Freeman is one of the discoverers of cosmic dark matter and co-established the field of galactic archaeology. He co-founded the massive GALAH spectroscopic survey of galactic stars, which is one of the basic tools of galactic archaeology, and is actively researching the nature of dark matter in the Milky Way.
